We were particularly inspired by the latest in saree drapery, manipulated in the freshest of ways. Here are the best of the rest, that’ll make your girl pals swoon with envy and leave you inspired to try these hot trends now.

Distressed Denim

Diksha Khanna broke all the rules at Amazon Indian Fashion Week with a unique twist distressed denim and deconstructed silhouettes. This torn denim saree dressed with a white shirt was a brave take on the classic, traditional saree. We see big blouses take over from the itty-bitty bikini blouses from the summer.

Flirty colours came to life during Karishma and Deepa Sondhi’s runway walk, dominating the ramp with their enticing range. Modern day sarees with a twist draped over the models perfect frames. The contemporary silhouettes were rooted with tradition and enhanced with crystal beads, french knots and tassels. Teamed with shoulderless blouses finished the courageous look of these sarees. The duo’s designs definitely had heads turning.

Normally bright colours are left behind in the spring and summer however, Nikasha went against the rules and presented a collection of beautifully layered garments including sarees, in various pink shades. Finished with subtle embroidery and flower-patterned prints. Pieces perfect for all year round.

Bravely printed sarees brought the holiday scene to the runway assisted by the application of metal, stones and crystals. Beautiful garments to brighten up any wardrobe.

Shyamal & Bhumika grabbed everyone’s attention as the models walked the runway. The duo show-cased their collection of voluminous skirts, sunglasses and sarees on day 1 of AIFW 2018. Sarees exquisitely layered with smooth as silk, pristine embroidery and velvet blouses. The pair’s delicate designs defiantly shouted for attention.

Long flowing drapes and structured silhouettes killed the runway during Malini Ramani’s show during Amazon India Fashion week. The designer showed off her signature style through a range of earthy coloured garments. Stunning sarees detailed with fine lines and symmetrical shapes glided down the runway showing how the traditional saree can be manipulated in many ways.
