Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s quiet Italian escapade won millions of hearts and reminded us that fairy tales do exist. There is no reason to debate that this in fact was the wedding of the year. From the décor to the setting to the exquisite Sabyasachi outfits, everything was a dream. As we unwilling say goodbye to the gorgeous couple, as they start their journey of happiness, we are still fawning on Anushka’s wedding wardrobe. Her earthy looks and pink tones are enough to give u inspiration for your own wedding. Here is a complete breakdown of these standout looks that you'll want for yourself!
The would-be bride chose to wear a red velvet saree by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The actor was seen wearing the signature hand embroidered Gulkand Burgundy using miniature pearls and the finest quality zardozi and marori.
She wore stunning uncut diamond and pearl choker with matching studs making her look every bit like royalty.
For the mehndi, the star chose a lighter, more vibrant look. The Bollywood actor went with a bohemian touch for the look, keeping this in mind a lehenga was created in which the colours were the focus of the look. The blouse was designed with a pop print, reminiscent of the 60’s era, that was transferred on to the fabric. The pink and orange lehenga was hand block printed and embroidered with gota and marori. Sharma paired the ensemble with jhumkas crafted in 22k gold, uncut diamonds and Japanese cultured pearls.
Then came the big day and Anushka decided to go for a simple, delicate and classic bridal look. The bride wore a pale pink lehenga featuring a voluminous skirt with fairytale-esque silver-gold metal thread embroidery and pearl and bead embellishments. The star topped it off with ethereal, traditional jewellery- a mathapatti, layered necklaces and jhumkas in jadau, pearls and pink spinel. The overall look was simply stunning.
For the Delhi reception the beaming bride was seen in a festive tomato red and gold Banarasi sari and opted to accessorise her classic look with an opulent uncut diamond choker and jhumkas, making her entire look more potent and powerful.
And finally, the bride wrapped up her stylish streak and partied it up in yet another Sabyasachi outfit- a breath-taking sparkle adorned vintage feel lehenga. Anushka wore a beautiful high waist, heavily embroidered and embellished lehenga skirt and a matching choli in shades of smoky grey and champagne with a shimmery dupatta, clinched at the waist with a Bengal tigers belt from the designer’s line. She completed her elegant vibe with cascading curls, simple earring studs, a diamond neck piece and traditional Punjabi red bangles set.
