See What The Celebs Wore at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017

Posted February 06, 2017

You’ve got to admit, Lakmé Fashion Week would be incomplete without it’s celebrity Bollywood quotient. While all five days of fashion week are glamorous enough, what with all the great clothes we’re looking at all day, some designers like to take it up a notch and have their favorite celebs strut down the runway in their last, finale outfit – from Sonakshi Sinha for Monisha Jaising to Kareena Kapoor Khan for VIVA-LUXE Designer Anita Dongre – we’ve got everyone we spotted this season right here!

This is typically an Indian phenomenon. Internationally most celebrities stick to the front row and the runway is reserved solely for the models. But all we have to say is, fashion week in India wouldn’t be the same without the celebs wearing clothes you might not see them in, on a daily basis.

Sonakshi Sinha for Monisha Jaising

This year, fashion week actually started on a yacht with Monisha Jaising’s vibrant collection. Sonakshi Sinha walked down the decks in an orange one-shoulder number we’d happily create a similar party to wear to.

Kunal Rawal is notorious for bringing his celebrity BFFs to the runway and this season, it wasn’t just one. Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor were both on his runway looking as hot as you’d imagine.

Rahul Khanna for Narendra Kumar

We wouldn’t mind if Rahul Khanna walked for each and every designer on all five days. This time, for Narendran Kumar, he looked as dapper as he could in a floral embroidered jacket and a bow tie to match. Siiiggh….

Bipasha Basu for Falguni & Shane Peacock

They returned to the Lakmé Fashion Week runway after six long years and it was as high on shine as you’d expect. Bipasha Basu closed the show for Falguni & Shane in a number that’s bound to be a red carpet favorite.

Karisma Kapoor for Arpita Mehta

Arpita Mehta always has something great to offer when it comes to her collections. Twirling in her latest mirror-work creation was Karisma Kapoor; we think she definitely needs to wear that outfit more!

Padma Lakshmi for Tarun Tahiliani

This was a much-awaited show. Firstly because every Tarun Tahiliani show is eagerly anticipated and secondly because Padma Lakshmi was all set to play showstopper. In a blush pink shirt and skirt combo she definitely got the temperatures soaring.

If there was ever a fun runway moment at fashion week, it would be when Jim Sarbh danced across, shoes in his hand and looked sexy as hell while doing so.

Malaika Arora Khan for Divya Reddy

While we didn’t love the outfit she had on, Malaika Arora Khan proved that the woman wears the outfit and not the other way around. Can you get past how hot she looks?

Kareena Kapoor Khan for Anita Dongre

She might have just had a baby but it didn’t stop her when she was pregnant, so it couldn’t have stopped her last night. Kareena Kapoor Khan looked ethereal as she closed the show and five days of fashion week for Anita Dongre.
