Most people have one engagement party before their crazy, four-day Indian weddings. But if you’re an Ambani, things are done a little a lot differently! We knew Akash Ambani’s engagement to Shloka Mehta would be the talk of the town, little did we know that the engagement would go on all weekend.
Of course like any Ambani party, Bollywood came out in full force. Alia Bhatt entered with new beau Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra brought her musician boyfriend Nick Jonas. One thing they all had in common – they looked like a million bucks.
Take a look at what everyone wore during the weekend:
The weekend kicked off with Priyanka Chopra in a Tarun Tahiliani sari for a dinner at the Ambani residence. If you asked me, I’d wear something like this to my own wedding, but it was all about that go big or go home this weekend.
Everyone was taken back to her Desi Girl days when we saw her next, red Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla number.
Alia Bhatt went with everyone’s favourite wedding designers – Abu & Sandeep and Manish Malhotra. You really can’t go wrong with them, can you?
Gauri Khan started off with a monochrome Falguni & Shane Peacock gown and ended the weekend in a sparking Tarun Tahiliani creation. Her best accessories over the weekend were husband Shah Rukh Khan and son Aryan.
The Bachchan family showed up in full force. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan picked a gilt Manish Malhotra sari while Shweta and Navya Nanda picked, you guessed it, Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla.
A pregnant Mira Rajput glowed in her Manish Malhotra number.
While Shraddha Kapoor made an appearance in Koecsh, Parineeti Chopra in Shantanu & Nikhil and Disha Patani in a beautiful Falguni & Shane Peacock.
It almost seemed like the family had a dress code. The Ambani women, Nita and Isha wore Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla and to be honest, it felt like that was the theme for the weekend.
Shloka herself had about four changes. It rotated around Anamika Khanna, Sabyasachi and of course, Abu Sandeep.
If this was just the engagement, I wonder what the actual wedding will be like. Brace yourselves!
