Fashion week always comes around with the promise of serving up some great innovation. New designers, fresh trends and reinvented silhouettes tend to send a shot of excitement through everyone attending the shows, simply because we can’t wait to show you all the new ways you can dress yourself for the season.
Amazon India Fashion Week (Autumn/Winter 2018) concluded leaving us with heaps of ideas and a whole lot of time to try them all out. Here are some of the hottest trends we spotted – jump on, this is a ride your wardrobe can’t miss.
Bold and Black
Black is to autumn winter what chocolate chip is to cookies. It’s inevitable and the ways in which Samant Chauhan, Shivan & Narresh and Adarsh Gill portrayed it not only gave us the feels, it made us want to move to a bolder black instead of just basic black – there’s a difference ladies.
You’d think sheer fabrics would be saved for spring, but what good is a glamorous party gown without some peek-a-boo action, right? Pick you favorite from Anupamaa Dayal, Rina Dhaka and Wendell Rodricks.
Topped Up Trousers
In a world where we’re used to picking out our bottoms as an afterthought, these new pieces from Abraham & Thakore, Vineet Bahl and Kanika Goyal will ensure the focus is feet-up and not neck-down.
Lay(er) It On
Layering has been a part of the fashion game for years now but what good is a game if you don’t get to the next level, right? This season, the layers came aplenty at ILK, Sonam Dubbal and Péro, and the ways to wrap them around your torso just passed on to level 100.
The Formidable Feathers
This season, the theme seemed to be ‘go big or go home’. Nobody likes fomo, so ‘go big’ it was! Embellishments came in the form of feathers in all kinds of sizes and colors at Pallavi Mohan, Namrata Joshipura and Patine.
Simple (but scintillating) Silhouettes
In a sea of complicated drapes and dramatic shapes, it was refreshing to see simple, easy-to-wear silhouettes at Nikasha, Malini Ramani and Anju Modi. These are pieces you wouldn’t think twice about before wearing.
