Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016 felt like it ended all too soon with house-hold designers like Manish Malhotra, Payal Singhal, Anita Dongre, Neeta Lulla and Rohit Bal showcasing some of their best work yet. All five days were an absolute treat for the eyes, and while it wasn’t easy to narrow down this lust-list, here are the 10 looks from the show that are totally drool-worthy.
1. Manish Malhotra’s Off-Shoulder Gowns
Manish Malhotra’s show ELEMENTS wasn’t anything like we’ve seen before. Manish is known for his romantic and extravagant gowns, this season though focused on embroidered off-the shoulder looks that shimmered and shone.
2. Wendell Rodricks
Indica Emporia by Wendell Rodricks on day 2 was all about sustainable, Indian textiles. Of all the gorgeous colour-blocked pieces we spotted, these separates put together from sarees, jackets and belts made for some gorgeous looks.
3. Anita Dongre
Blue and white are the perfect summer shades and Queen of textiles and craftmanship Anita Dongre paired them together in the best way. Wouldn’t this be the star of any event you attend?
4. Neeta Lulla
Two big themes of LFW were both embraced by designer Neeta Lulla - both off the shoulder tops and extended, exaggerated arms. We'd create an event to wear either of these lace embellished luxurious looks.
5. Shriya Som
What's not to love about this glittering ensemble from Shriya Som? With a sheer net covering to this off the shoulder look, it's simply starry.
6. SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi
After all the glitz and glamour we'd seen at LFW, we fell in love with SVA's range because of the simple clean lines and simple elegance and wearability.
7. Amit Aggarwal
‘Magma’ by Amit Aggarwal came with exaggerated silhouettes, geometrical curves and clothes that glow in the dark. These outfits from the future are ones we'd die to wear.
8. Anushree Reddy
Off the shoulder was the trend of the season as we've seen, and we loved what every girl's favourite, Anushree Reddy did with it. In soft, summer colours, this wrapped top and dupatta is something we’d like to wear, yes please!
9. Monisha Jaising
Embroidered jeans, sparkling tennis dresses and the sexiest gowns you’ve seen, Monisha Jaising made it hard to pick just one favourite. It took a while, but you can't help but drop your jaw at this sheer and gold, starry gown worn by Lisa Haydon.
10. Payal Singhal
A collection titled ‘Sitara’ is bound to be a star. While Payal Singhal had some stunning lehengas and sarees in her show, Payal used another season trend - long line jackets over this jumpsuit creating one fantastic combo.
